JOH 15:8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.
9 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.
10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.
We need to understand God
It is difficult to have faith in God if you do not understand Him. If you
understand your children, you have a VERY good idea what they are going to do
next. If you have been married for a couple of years, your wife knows what you
are thinking!
What type of a Person is God? First off we need to understand that if you
know the one you will know the others because the three of them are alike.
Isa 55:8 For my thoughts are not your
thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
Isa 55:9 For as the heavens are higher than
the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your
thoughts.
People often quote this verse to make an excuse of why we are not thinking
like God is thinking., But this is not the way it was supposed to be:
Joh 17:20 Neither pray I for these alone, but
for them also which shall believe on me through their word;
Joh 17:21 That they all may be one; as thou,
Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the
world may believe that thou hast sent me.
Joh 17:22 And the glory which thou gavest me
I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
Joh 17:23 I in them, and thou in me, that
they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast
sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
We are supposed to think like They do. We are supposed to act like They do.
We are supposed to be their images on earth. We even share their glory.
Let us have a look at the word "Glory"
Glory (G1391) =
δόξα (doxa)
Thayer Definition: Magnificence,
excellence, pre-eminence, dignity, grace, the absolutely perfect inward or
personal excellence
God and Curses
Now let us get back to what type of
Persons the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost are: Is God the One who brought
all the sicknesses and death to the people in the Old Testament?
Deu 28:20 The LORD shall send upon thee
cursing, vexation, and rebuke, in all that thou settest thine hand unto for
to do, until thou be destroyed, and until thou perish quickly; because of
the wickedness of thy doings, whereby thou hast forsaken me.
Deu 28:21 The LORD shall make the pestilence
cleave unto thee, until he have consumed thee from off the land, whither
thou goest to possess it.
Deu 28:22 The LORD shall smite thee with a
consumption, and with a fever, and with an inflammation, and with an extreme
burning, and with the sword, and with blasting, and with mildew; and they
shall pursue thee until thou perish.
Deu 28:23 And thy heaven that is over thy
head shall be brass, and the earth that is under thee shall be iron.
Deu 28:24 The LORD shall make the rain of thy
land powder and dust: from heaven shall it come down upon thee, until thou
be destroyed.
Deu 28:25 The LORD shall cause thee to be
smitten before thine enemies: thou shalt go out one way against them, and
flee seven ways before them: and shalt be removed into all the kingdoms of
the earth.
Deu 28:26 And thy carcass shall be meat unto
all fowls of the air, and unto the beasts of the earth, and no man shall
frighten them away.
Deu 28:27 The LORD will smite thee with the
botch of Egypt, and with the emerods, and with the scab, and with the itch,
whereof thou canst not be healed.
Deu 28:28 The LORD shall smite thee with
madness, and blindness, and astonishment of heart:
In the days that the Old Testament was written, there was no cause and effect
within the written language. Look at the following example:
"Do not go into the street, a car will run you over". This does not mean that
the moment you play in the street, a car will come looking for you in order to
run over you. The cause of the problem is that you are playing in the
street. The effect is that a car might run over you if they do not see
you in time.
What God meant here was that if we do not listen to Him and obey, we will
move out from under His umbrella of protection and these curses will come over
us.
How do I know that?
Joh 14:9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I
been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that
hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the
Father?
Jesus spoke extremely harsh to the religious people of the day and even
whipped them twice, but He never made one of them sick or killed anyone or
caused an enemy to harm them. This is because that is not the way They operate.
So what are They like?
Jer 9:23
Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let
the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches:
Jer 9:24
But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth
me, that I am the LORD which exercise loving-kindness, judgment, and
righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.
